St. Platon was born in the 3rd century AD. in Ankara of Asia Minor and was a fervent preacher of the name of Christ. The ruler of the region, Agrippinus, ordered his arrest and tried with flattery to persuade him to embrace the idols. Plato refused to betray his Christian faith. As a result, he was tortured horrifically and humiliated. The Saint finally, after many trials, was beheaded and surrendered his spirit to God. Fragments of the Holy Relic of the Saint are found in the Monasteries of the Great Cave of Kalavrita, Zoodochos Pigis in Poros and Faneromenis in Salamina. The Orthodox Christian Church commemorates him on November 18 of each year.

Care Instructions

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.

Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.

Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
