Orthodox icon of Prophet Haggai on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
Prophet Haggai was of the priestly tribe of Levi and was born in Babylon. While he was young in age, he left Babylon and returned to Jerusalem with the Jews. He became the first prophet to rise up after the exile. For 36 years he prophesied with the Prophet Zechariah in the sixth century before the coming of Christ. He openly prophesied about the return of the Jews to Jerusalem from Babylon, and saw the second Temple being built. In the Septuagint the superscriptions of Psalms 145 and 148 are attributed to the Prophets Haggai and Zechariah. His feast day is on December 16.
