Orthodox icon of Saint Macrina the Younger on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon. 

Macrina is significant in that she set the standard for being a holy Early Christian woman. She contributed to her brother's writings and his belief that virginity reflected the "radiant purity of God". As a martyr, St. Macrina thus became the patron of nursing mothers and nursemaids who pray to her for healthy breasts and a good supply of milk. Patients with diseases of the breast celebrate her feast day on February 5.
