It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Ita was born in the 5th century and was from a noble family. She founded a school and convent at Kileedy. A local chieftain offered her a grant of land for the support of the convent. The convent became known as a training ground for young boys, many of whom became famous churchmen, like Saint Brendan and Mochaemhoch. She fell asleep in 570 and her feast day is on January 15. She's the patron Saint of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Limerick and Kileedy in Ireland, of pregnancy and eye illnesses.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
