Orthodox icon of Saint Arsenios the Archbishop of Elassonos on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.  

St. Arsenios was born in the village of Kalogriana of Karditsa, in the year 1548. His father was a priest and his mother was the sister of Metropolitan Neophytos of Larissa and the niece of Saint Bessarion of Larissa. In 1572 Arsenios became a monk and was ordained a deacon. He lived in the Dousikou Monastery, where in 1579 he became a priest. At the end of 1579 he was appointed priest of the Patriarchal Church of Pammakaristos. In 1584 Arsenios was elected Archbishop of Demonikos and Elassonos. In 1586 Arsenios headed the embassy from Greece to Moscow and was received by Tsar Theodore Ioannovich very kindly. On the way back, the embassy stopped in Lviv, Ukraine. The Orthodox Bishop Gideon urged Arsenios to stay in Lviv and lead the fraternal school at the Dormition Church. He stayed there from 1586 to 1588 and taught the Greek and Church Slavonic languages. In late 1596 and early 1597 he became Archbishop of Arkhangelsk of the Kremlin's Archangel Cathedral. In 1616 he became Archbishop of Suzdal and Tarus. He died on April 13, 1625 and was buried in the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Theotokos in the Kremlin of Suzdal.
