Saint Theopisti
Saint Theopisti

It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Theopisti was born in 829-830 and her mother was Agapi (St. Theodora the Wonderworker). Her parents decided Theopisti at the age of 7 to be brought to the Monastery of Saint Luke the Evangelist, where their daughter was given the name Theopisti. It happened at one point that the abbess Katherine of the Monastery of St. Luke reposed and Theopisti came to live with her mother Theodora in the same cell at the Monastery of Saint Stephen. Theodora found it hard to deny her maternal affections for Theopisti. Abbess Anna, seeing this affection and condemning it because it violated holy vows, punished both women to 15 years of silence between them. When nun Theodora was 56 years old, the Abbess Anna stepped down from her position, and the nun Theopisti was elevated to be abbess in 868. Her feast day is on August 3.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
