St. Magnus was working on behalf of Bishop Wikterp from 746 in Ostallgau, Germany. He first worked with Theodor and together established an abbey dedicated to Virgin Mary and Gordianus and Epimachus at Kempten. In 746 Magnus built a prayer house in Waltenhofen. Then he founded a cell and oratory at Fussen from which a monastic community grew. His feast day is on September 6 and is the patron saint of Allgau, Fussen and Kempten, of cattle, eye diseases, snakebite, and for the protection from worms, rats, mice and field insects.

Care Instructions

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.

Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.

Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
