Saints Dionysios and Metrophanes were born in the early 16th century. They were brought up according to the precepts of the Gospel and especially Dionysios was very devoted to letters. Later he became a monk at the Stoudiou Monastery and, desiring a higher ascetic life, he left for the Holy Mountain. There, in a cell, near the Skete of Karyes, he devoted himself to the study and work of ascetic philosophy. However, because he could not find peace even there, he went to a hermitage of Little Saint Anna. Here, together with his disciple Metrophanes, in a cave, they practiced the life in Christ. Later, Metrophanes, with the decision of the Fathers, left the Holy Land and taught the word of God in the surrounding area. Then, he returned to the Elder Dionysius. Dionysios died peacefully on July 9th, 1606 (other manuscripts, however, state that he fell asleep on October 6th, 1596 or 1602), while Metrophanis died a little later. In the Skete of Saint Anna, an autographed book of various materials is preserved, with the signature of Saint Dionysios the Orator, and with the title "Kouvaras". Their feast day is on July 9.

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
