Catholic icon of Saint Cuthbert of Lindisfarne on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Cuthbert was born in Dunbar, Scotland in 634. He decided to become a monk after seeing a vision on the night in 651 that Aidan died, but he seems to have experienced some period of military service beforehand. He was made guest-master at the new monastery at Ripon, but had to return with Bishop Eata of Hexham to Melrose when Bishop Wilfrid was given the monastery instead. At 662 he was made prior at Melrose, and 665 went as prior to Lindisfarne. In 684 he was made Bishop of Lindisfarne, but in 686 he resigned and returned at his hermitage as he felt he was about to die. He died in 687 after a painful illness. His feast day is on March 20 and is the patron saint of Northumbria and Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle.
