St. Timon was born at the village Lambadistos of Cyprus in 49 a.d. and was associated with the Apostoles Barnabas and Mark. According to tradition the Apostoles Barnabas and Mark, coming from Laodicea in Asia Minor to Cyprus to continue their evangelical tour, arrived at night at the village Krommiakitis and was hosted by the ''ierodoulous''(servants of pagan temple) Timon and Ariston. Timon seems to have been sick at the time, Barnabas healed him and then introduced him to the truth of the Gospel. After the failed attempt of the two Apostles to preach in Lapithos, they headed, followed by Timon and after by Saint Rodon, to the village of Lampadisto, where Timon came from. There they were accommodated in the house of Agios Herakleides, whom the two Apostles ordained as bishop of Tamasea. Later the holy entourage visited Kition, where they were not received and left by ship for Salamis. There Barnabas met a martyr's death. Apostle Mark, Timon and Rodon fled through Nicosia to Limnitis of Solos. Here the Apostle Mark catechized, baptized and then ordained Saint Auxibios, the first bishop of Solos. Afterwards, Markos and his entourage set sail for Alexandria, Egypt. Saints Timon and Rodon, after the martyrdom of Mark the Evangelist in Alexandria, they return to their birthplace Cyprus, continuing their missionary activity on the island. His feast day is on July 28.
