Saint Laura of Cordoba
Saint Laura of Cordoba

It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Laura was a Mozarabic Christian of Visigothic origin and from a noble family of Cordoba in the 9th century. She married an important official of the emirate, with whom she had two daughters. After 6 years she became a widow and she decided to enter the convent of Santa Maria de Cuteclara. For 9 years she was abbess of the monastery and she publicly proclaimed her faith, blaspheming against Islam, and this entailed the death penalty. She was arrested and at first she was flogged, then submerged in a boiling lead cauldron where she miraculously sing praises to God for 3 hours, after which she was decapitated on October 19, 864 and which is her feast day.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
