St. Dionysios was a monk of Vatopedi Monastery and was sent to Crete 1822 to escort the Holy Girdle of Theotokos because of an epidemic that ravaged the island. Since at that time a revolution broke out in Crete, the Turks arrested him as a hostage and pressured him to convert to Islam. Because he refused the Turks tortured him by piercing his head with a flaming spit. In 1822 he was led to the gallows. His feast day is on July 31 and October 10.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
