Orthodox icon of Archangel Uriel on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
The Archangel Uriel, whose name in Hebrew means Fire of God or Light of God, is one of the eight traditional Archangels. He holds a flame of fire, referring to his name. As the main spiritual role of Archangel Uriel is that of the angel who guides the deceased during the Last Judgment, this has drawn the connection between Uriel and the "Raging Fire of God's Judgement". Uriel, also, is regarded as an angel with deep ties to the Earth and humanity, whereas the other archangels primarily fulfill duties in heaven. Uriel is commemorated together with the other archangels and angels with a feast day of the "Synaxis of the Archangel Michael and the Other Bodiless Powers" on November 8 of the liturgical calendar.
