Saint Linus the Pope of Rome
Saint Linus the Pope of Rome
Catholic icon of Saint Linus, Pope of Rome, on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Linus was entrusted with his office by the Apostles Peter and Paul after they had established the Christian church in Rome. He was the second Bishop of Rome and Pope of the Catholic Church. His pontificate endured from circa AD 67 to his death. St. Linus performed many miracles: apart from raising a dead person to life, he was expert at casting out devils. On one occasion, he expelled the demon from a possessed girl who was the daughter of an ex-consul called Saturninus. Angered at his child’s subsequent conversion, the angry father had St. Linus imprisoned and then beheaded. His feast day is on September 23.

Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
