Orthodox icon of Saint Ioannis the Stranger on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. St. Ioannis was born in the village Siva of Messara, Crete in 970 AD. He choose the austere ascetic life; wandering at the ascetic places of the monastery Panagia Odigitria, found the graves of Saints Euthychios and Euthychianos and built a church in their memory. He was a hymnographer and translator of works of Aristotle. The center of the missionary action of Ioannis was the Holy Monastery of Virgin Mary in Miriokefala, which was founded by him. In 1205 AD. he went to Constantinople to ensure stavropegic value, bringing icons of sacred vessels, etc. His feast day is on September 20.
