Saint Cosmas of Aetolia
Orthodox icon of Saint Cosmas of Aetolia on thick plywood 20mm thick, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with a special varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Kosmas was born in Megalo Dendro of Aitolia in 1714 AD. He went to school and worked as a teacher in Naupaktia. Later, when the Athoniada School was founded on Mount Athos, he was one of the first students. St. Kosmas studied the Holy Bible and the work of the Fathers of the Church. In 1759 he became a monk in the Monastery of Saint Philotheus and after a while he was ordained a priest. In 1760, St. Kosmas began his missionary work in the enslaved nation and continued without interruption for 20 years. His feast day is on August 24.
