Orthodox icon of Saint Basil the Hesychast and Abbot of Poiana Marului Skete on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Basil was born in Ukraine in 1692. He went to Wallachia and received monastic tonsure at Dalhautsi-Focshani Skete in 1705. He was ordained to the Holy priesthood and became Abbot of Dalhautsi-Focshani in 1715. He remained in that position for 20 years. St. Basil renovated the Poiana Marului Skete in 1730 and moved there with 12 disciples. He fell asleep on April 25, 1767.
