St. Anastasios came to Cyprus from the Holy Land with 300 other Christians in the 7th or 12th century, in order to escape the wrath of the Arabs who had just conquered the city. Anastasios never stopped working in order to earn his daily bread. In a hewn-out cave he set up his loom and wave sacks in which cereals could be kept or transported. His feast day is on September 17 and is the patron saint of the village Peristerona, those who suffer from rheumatism, arthritis, paralysis and fractures.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
