Saint Aglaia lived in the 3rd century AD. and came from a wealthy family of Roman nobles. She was distinguished for almsgiving and for the help to her fellow human beings. Aglaia was in a relationship with a young man named Boniface, whom she had appointed as her estate manager. Boniface and Aglaia were distinguished for their charity and honesty. The couple fell into the sin and turned away from God. The two youngs confessed their sins and returned to the road of virtue and rebirth. Boniface, as a Christian, was severely tortured and martyred for his faith in Tarsus of Cilicia. Saint Aglaia sold all her property and dedicated herself to God and to the suffering fellow human being. The Orthodox Christian Church celebrates her memory on December 19 of each year.

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
