Saint Ulrich of Augsburg
Saint Ulrich of Augsburg

It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Ulrich was born in Ratisbon, Germany. He became archdeacon of the cathedral in Ratisbon and in 1052 he went to Cluny and became a Benedictine monk. After ordination, he was named chaplain to the nuns at Marcigny. Loss of sight in one eye caused him to resign and return to Cluny. Ulrich then was prior at Peterlingen, was founding friar of the Ruggersberg Priory, and was founding abbot of the monastery at Zell in the Black Forest and of a convent at Bollschweil. In 1091 he became totally blind. He died on July 10, 1093 at Augsburg. His feast day is on July 14.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
