Orthodox icon of Saint Nikephoros the Confessor, Patriarch of Constantinople, on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Nikephoros was born in 758 AD in Constantinople to a wealthy family. Despite the great education he received and the future that might follow, Nikephoros retired to his estate on the Bosphorus to devote himself to the study of the Scriptures. After some time, he was entrusted with the management of the poorhouse of Constantinople, and he succeeded the patriarch Tarasius by order of the emperor Nikephoros I. St. Nikephoros served Christianity from his position, but with the rise of Leo V, the iconoclasts fought him for his faith. He was removed from the Patriarchate and some time later he passed away. His feast day is on June 2.
