It has been covered with a special varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.

Saint Christopher of Lycia was a third-century martyr. Originally named Reprobus, the Roman authorities became aware of him when he converted a group of soldiers to Christ. He was baptized with the name Christopher, which means "Christ-bearer." This is why he is oftentimes depicted as literally carrying Christ. The saint was subjected to torture and martyred about the year 250. Many miracles have been attributed to Saint Christopher's prayers, and his intercessions have been considered powerful for centuries. His feast is celebrated on May 9.

Care Instructions

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.

Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.

Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
