Orthodox icon of Saint Barnabas and Sofronios the founders of Soumela Monastery on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
We don't have clear biographical information about them. Only from the ''Neon Lemonarion'' do we learn that they died peacefully in the year 412 AD. From them Barnabas was the founder of the Soumela Monastery, Sofronios was his nephew, and both were from Athens. Their feast day is on August 18.
