Saint Gerasimos of Jordan
Saint Gerasimos of Jordan

It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Gerasimos was born in Lycia, Asia Minor. His parents were wealthy and he became a merchant. In Egypt he grew in spiritual strenght and wisdom and he returned to Lycia. Later, he went to Palestine, where he settled in the wilderness near the Jordan river. There he built a monastery where novices lived in a common house and the proven monks in a cluster of little cells. The monks of his monastery were fond of recalling how a lion came to greatly love the Saint and served him obediently and with great humility. St. Gerasimos died peacefully in 475 and was buried in his monastery. His feast day is on March 4.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
