St. Procopius was born in Decapolis, Asia Minor. In his youth, he devoted himself to a life of asceticism. He was a defender of icons and showed that the veneration of icons is not idolatry; because of that, he was arrested, brutally tortured, flogged and scrapped with an iron brush. After the death of the iconoclast Emperor Leo the Isaurian, the icons were restored in the churches and Procopius returned to his monastery. He reposed peacefully in 750. His feast day is on February 27.

Care Instructions

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.

Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.

Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
