Orthodox icon of Saint Philip the Apostle on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
One of the twelve Apostles, we know from the Gospels that Saint Philip was present at the miracle of the loaves and fishes, and was the apostle approached by the Hellentistic Jews to be presented to Jesus. The Book of Acts lists him as being present in the Upper Room during the descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. He preached in Syria and Greece, and was crucified at the order of the proconsul of Hierapolis because his miracles and preaching had converted the latter's wife. Philip is the patron of hatters, pastry chefs, the nations of Luxembourg and Uruguay, and many churches, schools and hospitals throughout the world. The Church celebrates Philip's feast day on 14 November.
