The Holy Martyr Longinus was among the soldiers who crucified Christ. When he witnessed the darkness and the earthquake, he made his famous confession, "Truly this man was the Son of God." According to tradition, Longinus was also stationed at the Lord's tomb and witnessed the Resurrection. Coming to believe in Christ, he was baptized and left the military service. He instead became a preacher, together with two companions. He traveled to Cappadocia, where his eyewitness account won many converts. The Jews persuaded the authorities to have him arrested, and he was beheaded. His feast is celebrated on October 16 and is the patron saint of the city of Mantua, Italy.

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
