Orthodox icon of Prophet Naum or Nahum on thick plywood 20mm thick, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with a special varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
Prophet Naum was born in Alqosh and his name means ''comforter''. He was a very nationalistic Hebrew and lived amongst the Elkoshites in peace. Nahum's writings could be taken as prophecy or as history. One account suggests that his writings are a prophecy written in about 615 BCE, just before the downfall of Assyria, while another account suggests that he wrote this passage as liturgy just after its downfall in 612 BCE. His feast day is on December 1.
