Miraculous Orthodox icon of Virgin Mary Eleftherotria on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
Panagia Eleftherotria was declared a Great General by the Greeks of Byzantium in 626 AD. The Virgin has helped and protected over the years the Greek nation from the attacks of other races. After the fall of Constantinople from the Ottomans, Panagia Eleftherotria was the hope of the Greeks and we honor her as our Mother. The Great General freed the Greek Nation from the Turkish yoke and protected the Greeks from the attack of the Italians in 1940 AD. She is the One who throughout the ages frees us from visible and invisible enemies. Her feast day is on October 28.
