St. Pimen was born and grew up sickly. For a long time he besought his parents to send him to the Kiev Caves Lavra. When they brought their son to the monastery, he asked his tonsuring into monasticism. One night, radiant angels appeared in the guise of monks and tonsured him. The told him that he would receive his health only on the day of his death. St. Pimen spent many years in sickness. One day, as the angels had predicted, he became healthy; he took leave of all the brethren and of the Holy Mysteries. St. Pimen indicated the place for his burial, and carried his bed there; he lay down upon his bed and fell asleep in the Lord. His feast day is on August 7.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
