St. Seraphim was born in 1866. He received an excellent education, got married, and was a very successful businessman. When their son grew up, both Seraphim and his wife by agreement decided to enter monasteries. In 1920 Seraphim joined the Alexander Nevsky Lavra in St. Petersburg. He was tonsured and was a bell ringer. Very soon he was ordained hierodeacon and a manager of the cemetery chancery. In 1921 he was ordained hieromonk and later he was tonsured into the Great Schema. He was the spiritual Father of St. Alexander Nevsky Lavra for 3 years. He soon had serious health problems and was diagnosed with intercostal neuralgia, rheumatism and venous congestion of legs. In 1930 Seraphim left St. Petersburg and went to Vyritsa. He died on April 3, 1949.

Care Instructions

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.

Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.

Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
