Orthodox icon of Saint John the Hermit on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. John the Hermit practiced asceticism, together with 98 venerable fathers, in Crete. St. John was from Egypt. He came across the sea standing on his tunic, which, after praying to God, he spread on the water and thus by the power of God sailed to Crete. He lived separately from the other fathers in a cave. Coming out of his cave one day, he was shot by a hunter, who thought it was some kind of beast; and so he reposed in the Lord. His feast day is on October 7.
