St. Dionysius was born in Thessaly in the 15th century. After the death of his parents, he worked as a teacher and scribe, but he went to the Monastery of the Transfiguration at Meteora. After a while he fled to Mount Athos, but the monks sent him to the Bishop of Cassandra. Reaching the required age, he received the Great Angelic Schema, he was ordained deacon and priest and took over the duties in the services at the Protaton. He lived an eremitic life not far from the Monastery of Karakallou. Having undertaken a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, he stopped at Iconium, where the Metropolitan wanted to keep him to be his successor, but he returned to Mount Athos. After 7 years, the monks of Philotheou asked him to become their Abbot and he agreed. However, some Bulgarian monks plotted to make an end of him, so St. Dionysius fled to the Skete of Beroea. He rebuilt the Church of Saint John the Forerunner and transformed the Skete into a cenobitic monastery. He left the monastery and settled in a wooden valley at the foot of Mount Olympus. There he began the construction of the Monastery of the Holy Trinity, but the Turkish governor decided to arrest him. St. Dionysius fled to Mount Pilion, where he founded the Monastery of the Holy Trinity of Sourvia. He returned to Mount Olympus and lived in a cave. He died in peace in 1541 and his feast day is on January 23.

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
