Orthodox icon of Saint Chrysostom the Metropolitan of Smyrna on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.

St. Chrysostom was born in Triglia, Marmara Sea, in 1867. He studied at Halki Theological School and served as Archdeacon to Metropolitan of Mytilene, who became Ecumenical Patriarch in 1897. Chrysostom then served as chancellor in Constantinople and in 1902 he was ordained Metropolitan of Drama. He was withdraw from this position in 1907 because of his struggles against Bulgarian propaganda. In 1908 he returned to the Metropolis of Drama. In 1909 he was again withdraw from this position and retired to Triglia. In 1910 he was ordained Metropolitan of Smyrna. In 1914 he was removed from his position from the Turkish authorities because of his struggles against Bulgarian and Turkish propaganda. In 1918 he returned to the Metropolis of Smyrna. During the Turkish invasion of Smyrna in 1922 he refused to abandon his people, and was arrested by the Turkish commandant of the city, and surrended him to the angry Turkish mob. He was horrifically tortured and died. His feast day is Sunday before the Exaltation of the Holy Cross.
