Orthodox icon of Panagia Odigitria on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
This icon was for many years in the Catholikon of the Holy Great Monastery of Vatopedi. In 1730, however, it suddenly disappeared from its position and was found in the Monastery of Xenophontos. The monks of Vatopedi relocated her to her place and took measures to protect her. The icon, however, was found again in the Monastery of Xenophontos in a miraculous way. The Vatopedians were persuaded of the miracle and decided not to resist to the will of the Theotokos.
