Telonis (Publican) was a tax collector, which meant he practiced a profession that was generally despised. The Pharisee belonged to the rulling party, the elite of society and administration. The Lord spoke this parable: ''Two people went up to the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee and the other a Publican. The Pharisee stood ostentatiously and prayed the following prayer about himself: ''God, I thank you that I am not like other people, a rapist, unjust, adulterer, or even like this Publican. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all my income to the temple''. The Publican, on the contrary, stood far back and did not even dare to raise his eyes to heaven. He would beat his breast and say: ''God, have mercy on the sinner''. I assure you that he went home innocent and reconciled to God, while the other did not; for whoever exalts himself will be humbled,  and whoever humbles himself will be exalted''.

Care Instructions

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.

Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.

Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
