Orthodox icon of Saint Joseph the Metropolitan of Astrakhan on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.

St. Joseph was born in Astrakhan in 1597. He became a monk and in 1659 he was made Archimandrite of the Astrakhan Trinity Monastery. In 1667, he was at Moscow and was made Metropolitan of Astrakhan. In 1672, during an uprising of the townspeople against the Cossacks, St. Joseph suffered martyrdom at Astrakhan and died. His feast day is on May 11.
