Orthodox icon of Prophet Zacharias or Zechariah on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
Prophet Zacharias lived in the time when Herod was king of Judea. His wife was Elizabeth and they were childless; they begged God to give them a child. One day, the priest Zacharias saw an Angel of the Lord announcing to him that Elizabeth would have a son. But he disbelieved, so he remained deaf until the birth of his son, John the Baptist. His feast day for the East Orthodox Church is on February 8 and for the Catholic Church on September 6 and is the patron saint of fathers, barristers, notaries, tailors and eye diseases.
