It has been covered with a special varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.

St. Sabina was the daughter of Herod Metallarius and the wealthy widow of Senator Valentinus. Sabina converted to Christianity due to the example of her Syrian slave Serapia. The widow then withdrew with a few devout friends to one of her country seats, where she spent her time doing good works. Serapia was denounced and beheaded in the city of Vindena in the state of Umbria. Sabina was initially discharged out of regard to her quality and friends; but some time later was denounced as well, and accused of being a Christian by Elpidio the Prefect. She was thereupon martyred in Rome around the year 126 AD. Her feast day is on August 29.

Care Instructions

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.

Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.

Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
