Saint Olbianos the Hieromartyr and Bishop of Anaea

Orthodox icon of Saint Olbianos the Hieromartyr and Bishop of Anaea on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.  

St. Olbianos lived during the reign of Emperor Maximian in the year 301. When Agrippinus and Clementius, the custodians of the idols, were offering sacrifices to god Rhea, Olbianos was urged to sacrifice to her. Then Olbianos with many demonstrable proofs, elevated and exalted the faith of Christ. For this reason, first they burnt the back and inward parts of the Saint with a fiery spit. Then, because he could not be persuaded to sacrifice to the sun, the governor ordered to be beaten with rods, after having first stripped him naked. After this they lit a great fire, into which they cast Olbianos together with his disciples. His feast day is on 29 May.
