It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.

St. Lazarus was a close friend of Jesus Christ, who lived in Bethania, 3 km from Jerusalem, and the brother of Martha and Mary (Magdalene). The miracle of Lazarus made many people believe in Jesus Christ, which irritated the archpriests and Pharisees. After his raising, St Lazarus lived another thirty years as a bishop on the island of Cyprus, where he spread Christianity and peacefully fell asleep in the Lord. Lazarus died in Cyprus in 63 AD. Above his grave was built a temple; bearing the inscription written in the Hebrew "Lazarus of the Four Days, the friend of Christ". His feast day is on October 17 and is the patron saint of butchers, gravediggers, beggars and leppers.

Care Instructions

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.

Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.

Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
