St. Kyrillos lived during the reign of Emperor Diocletian, and having lived a venerable and ascetic life, he was ordained Bishop of Gortyna in Crete at the age of 68. After governing the Church of Crete for 25 years, he was brought before the governor Agrianos in 299. He boldly proclaimed Christ as the true God, for which he was tied up and thrown alive into a flaming fire. But Kyrillos remained unharmed. When the governor beheld such a marvel, he was released and set free. However, because many pagans converted to the Christian faith, it was decided that he once again be put to death. Placing a bridle over his mouth, he was put on a carriage drawn by two oxen due to his old age. And arriving at a fortified and rugged place called Raxos, the oxen stopped the carriage, and being taken down from the carriage, he bent his neck under the sword, and was beheaded. His feast day is on June 14.

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
