St. Jerome was born in Stridon on the border of Dalmatia and Pannonia in 342-347 AD. The young Saint Jerome left his studies in Rome to further explore the Christian world and acquaint himself with holy clergy and monks. Seeking a closer union with Christ, he lived a solitary life in the deserts of Syria. Throughout his life he wrote prodigiously, upbraiding the faithful for their laxity, defending the virginity of the Blessed Virgin, defending the practices of celibacy and the veneration of the saints' relics, and more. His best known writings are his commentaries on the scriptures. He ended his life in Bethlehem at a venerable old age on September 30, 420 AD. The Catholic Church recognizes him as the patron saint of translators, librarians, and encyclopedists. Jerome translated many biblical texts into Latin from Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. His feast day is on September 30.

Care Instructions

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.

Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.

Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
