Orthodox icon of Saint Febronia the Virgin Martyr on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Febronia was a nun at city Nisibis. She suffered persecution under Emperor Diocletian, who offered her freedom if she renounced her faith and married his nephew, Lysimachus, who had been leaning towards conversion to Christianity. Febronia refused and was tortured, suffered mutilation and death. Her feast day is on June 25 and is the patron saint of the region of Palagonia, Sicily.
