St. Bianca was the daughter of King of Castile and was born in Palencia in 1188. At the age of 11 she was betrothed to Luigi, a dolphin of France. The marriage was celebrated on May 23, 1200 in Portmort, Normandy. Bianca educated in Christianity and brought up her children with the same religious sentiments. After becoming Queen of France in 1223, she was widowed just 3 years later, she immediately found herself facing a coalition of the great feudal lords. With shrewd maneuvers, Bianca was able to succeed in this and other successive coalitions. When her son reached the age of majority in 1234, Bianca continued for a decade to deal with the affairs of state alongside Louis IX. Following the king's departure for the crusade of 1243, Bianca had to take over the regency and go back to the administration of the kingdom, abandoned for some years. Suffering from heart, Bianca died in Paris on 26 or 27 November 1252, while Louis IX was still in the East. Bianca is universally venerated as a saint, although she has never been canonized, and her feast day is on December 2.

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
