St. Christos was a sailor and when the ship in which he worked arrived from Crete to the island of Kos, he run immediately to church, prayed, found a priest and confessed. After a few days, when he returned to his ship, he came accros with Janissaries, who cursed his faith and the Holy Baptism. Christos was not afraid and answered the Turks that Muhammad is the infernal antichrist. The janissaries, full of anger, rushed upon him and with fierce blows told him to deny his faith in order to be saved. Christos responded by reciting the symbol of faith. Then they took him out of the city and burned him alive. The Turks left his body unburied for a month, but the relics of the Saint remained unchanged. His feast day is on August 5.

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
