Orthodox icon of Saint Benjamin the Patriarch on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
The youngest son of Jacob, he was called Benoni and then Benjamin. Before his death Jacob blessed him in a seemingly backhanded way, saying that “Benjamin is a ravenous wolf, devouring his prey in the morning, and dividing the spoil in the evening”. Commentators say this is not a reference to Benjamin himself, but to the warlike nature of the tribe of Benjamin. His feast day is on December 17.
