Orthodox icon of the Saints Nine Martyrs of Cyzicus on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
The Nine Saints of Cyzicus, Theognis, Rufus, Antipater, Theostichos, Artemas, Magnus, Theodoulos, Thavmasios and Philemon were arrested all together in Cyzicus during the period of persecutions. When they were brought before the local ruler, they displayed admirable bravery and defended their faith with boldness and courage, and were thrown into prison. When the governor asked them from prison for the last time if they all insisted on believing in Christ and they replied that they preferred martyrdom to denying Christ. Furious with rage, the governor immediately ordered their beheading. Their feast day is on April 28.
