St. Loukas was born in 896 AD. He was originally from Aegina, but his family moved to Phocis. When his father died, his concern for the comfort of his mother was most touching. When his mother died, he distributed all his possessions to the poor and built a hut at the foot of a mountain near the sea. When the Bulgarians invaded central Greece, Loukas fled to the Peloponnese. He returned to Phocis in 927 AD. and settled on Mount Steirion. There with other monks he built a monastery, and his great spirituality made him gain the reputation of a Saint throughout the region. He died on February 7, 953 AD, which is also his feast day.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
