They were taken to Larissa, where they were sold-off separately. After 2 years they were bought by the same Turkish landowner. This Turk didn't have any children and thought to make John his God-child. Therefore, every day he tried to convince him to leave the Christian faith and become a Turk. One day his master, tired of trying to convince him to convert, in anger led him to the courtyard of the mosque. Many Muslims with blows and threats they urged him to convert, but John was steadfull. Finally, the Turk stabbed John in the heart in 1773 and died. His feast day is on October 21.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
